GEOL 101 - Physical Geology

 

An introduction to the physical nature of the planet Earth. This course covers material from the genesis of rocks and minerals to their erosional process, to earthquakes and mountain building. This course has it all! Come check it out

GEOL 110T - Dinosaur World

 

An introduction to one of the most exciting topics in paleontology: Dinosaurs! In course we focus on such topics as the evolution of different dinosaur groups, how dinosaurs are related to modern birds, and of course their extinction. This course integrates labs, lectures and field trips.

GEOL 201 - Earth History

 

This course reviews the Earth’s physical and biological history as interpreted from rocks and fossils. Plate tectonics and evolution are two unifying theories covered in the semester. This course integrates labs, lectures, discussion groups, and a field trip to the Grand Canyon NP.

GEOL 310T- California Geology

GEOL 322 - Paleontology

 

This course reviews the major fossil groups and discusses their evolution through geological time. Topics include: taxonomy, ichnology, biostratigraphy, taphonomy, mass extinction, and paleoecology.
